New feedback tool launched on SHSC ward

We are developing and piloting a new feedback tool which will help us to understand the quality of care that is being given in a more efficient way.

SHSC has been selected by NHS England to receive the funding to develop the tool, which is called Safe2Share.

Safe2Share was launched on Stanage ward last week, and it will be rolled out this summer across the rest of our acute wards and forensic services.

What is Safe2Share?

Safe2Share is a digital platform where service users, carers and families can give feedback on their care and experiences. Safe2Share works in real-time, making it easier to find and fix problems sooner.

The feedback will be shared with providers and commissioners to help build an understanding of whether the care being provided is person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed in line with our Clinical and Social Care Strategy.

Safe2Share was initially piloted with children and young people in inpatient areas across a range of Trusts, now it is being developed for adults and SHSC has been selected to receive funding from NHS England to develop and pilot Safe2Share for our acute wards and forensic services.

We are working alongside Sheffield Flourish to coproduce the tool with service users and people with experience of using our services. We are also working with the University of Sheffield to ensure that it is providing accurate and useable data, which will continue as we go through the pilot.

How does Safe2Share work?

Safe2Share is easily accessible by scanning a QR code or following a URL link, which will then open a web app where people can fill out feedback questions.

It is also important for people to understand how their views will be acted on, even if specific feedback cannot be provided due to anonymity, and build confidence that their feedback will help to improve support for them and their communities. So a key part of Safe2Share is that we will be loudly talking about the changes and responses we have made based on the feedback that has been submitted.
