2021/22 has been the year we have learned to live with COVID-19 and our priority has been to ensure we keep our service users and staff safe from the virus.
There have been a number of challenges along the way, including surges of new variants and the winter pressures the NHS faces each year.
We were delighted to see 94% of staff receiving two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine during the financial year, alongside more than 75% of staff receiving the flu vaccination – our highest rate ever.
Our most vulnerable service users, those in our care homes, were prioritised for their vaccinations and were some of the first in the city to receive their jabs.
The success of the campaign was down to the amazing efforts of our staff vaccinators, including sisters Sharon Ashton and Mandy Reynolds (pictured above) who between them gave 240 COVID-19 vaccinations and 343 flu jabs.
