Earlier this year we decided that our step down service based at Wainwright Crescent needed to move to more suitable accommodation to best support service users spending time there.
Wainwright Crescent is a residential unit providing step down support for our service users who have been discharged from one of our acute wards. The step down support gives them time to readjust to life off the ward and prepare for moving back home.
Over the past few months we have been hard at work refurbishing Beech cottage at our Woodland View site and we are very excited to confirm that from today (6 July 2022) our step down service has been relocated and officially renamed 'Beech'.
The new service is a 10-bed unit and in a completely revamped space, with two new kitchens, bedrooms, lounges, dining areas and a large garden space.
All of the spaces have been designed to best support our service users prepare for living back in the community as they continue their recovery.
14 staff who have all previously worked with service users at Wainwright Crescent will be moving with them to their new home in Norton to provide support and help them settle in.
You can find out more about the support on offer at Beech on our service A-Z page.
