Take a look back at the Sheffield Arts Festival

Take a look back at the Sheffield Arts Festival, a joint programme of creativity between SHSC and Sheffield Flourish which took place between 21 November and 4 December.

A public art exhibition at The Circle featured works from people with lived experience of mental health, whatever that may be, SHSC staff and people from Sheffield.

There were more than 85 pieces on display included paintings, photography, collages, drawings - whatever the artists liked to use. They all covered the theme ‘this is me’.

The grand opening of the exhibition drew a crowd of more than 60 people who viewed the works and took part in activities such as junk puppet modelling and creating paper mandalas.

You can take a look at some of the pieces in the video above or soon in an online gallery on Sheffield Flourish’s website.

As well as the exhibition, the SHSC art therapy team ran extra creative sessions on many inpatient wards.

These included drumming, sewing, creative writing, music production and dance.

Some of the art created for and during the festival will be used around our SHSC sites.
