We are delighted to announce that Salli Midgley will be joining us as our new Director of Quality later this year.
Salli has spent over 25 years in mental health clinical services, leading teams as a ward manager and matron across inpatient units and community services. Salli has held a number of senior manager roles including Assistant and Deputy Director roles in York, Hull and East Ridings.
Most recently Salli has led a taskforce for children and young people’s mental health inpatient services, whilst also leading the Improving Quality Team in the national learning disability and autism programme. She will continue to work as an external clinical lead to the taskforce on a part-time basis, her main role will be to co-ordinate the national restrictive practice programme and to complete a small number of improvement projects in the children and young people's taskforce, working closely with the Care Quality Commission, Health Education England and a range of national stakeholders.
Speaking about her appointment, Salli said: “I am looking forward to getting back to working in a provider, joining the Trust is a new opportunity for me. I know you have some areas of fantastic work and high quality services; as well as some teams and services needing support and improvement. I am keen to meet people who use services and the staff teams as soon as possible within the limitations of the current pandemic. Everyone I have met so far has been very warm and welcoming, I am delighted to be joining such a friendly organisation.
“Co-production is central to the way in which I work, both from those who use services, carers and families as well as staff. I would really value invitations to join groups and meetings (virtually as appropriate) to hear about your experiences, learning, improvements and what works well. Hopefully I will be meeting some of you very soon.”
