A huge thank you to all our staff who took part in our ‘charathon’ or collective marathon on 20 December. They have raised over £300 so far for Sheffield Hospitals Charity! Our target is £1000.
On a chilly morning 70 intrepid staff walked or ran the equivalent of two marathons. That’s the same as walking or running from Meadowhall interchange to The Deep in Hull! Together the team took on a one a kilometre loop, starting and finishing at the Michael Carlisle Centre.
There was fantastic fancy dress and Christmas tunes blasting. A cheer squad in full voice supported the runners with sweet treats at feed stations. Lots of staff went round on multiple laps to help us stretch our total distance further.
This year we want to raise £1000 to provide exercise and leisure equipment to service users at our Beech step down service. There’s still time to donate.
We are dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of people who use our services, by helping and encouraging them to take part in meaningful activity. The money we raise will be used to create a supportive wellbeing space for service users at Beech, where they can make use of things like an exercise bike, a rowing machine or a games console.
