The dancers are briefed, the sequins are dusted off and the moves are rehearsed. The danceathon is on. This Friday from 7am.

We want to raise £3,000 so we can create a music studio on the therapy corridor at Michael Carlisle Centre so our service users can create music as part of their recovery from mental illness.

Our service users have told us that creating music is a healing and therapeutic experience.

The 10-hour danceathon will take place on Friday 16 December in the staff rest area at Michael Carlisle. Service users and staff are dancing to raise money to fund the new music studio. Our dance partners are the inpatient occupational therapy team. The danceathon will run from 7am to 5pm.
