It's National Healthcare Estates & Facilities Day so we took the opportunity to say a big thank you to our staff who keep our services running.
We held a celebratory event this morning for our estates and facilities teams. They reflected on their many successes of the last year while enjoying some breakfast butties.
The team have achieved a huge amount over the last 12 months, improving our buildings and making our facilities a great place for us to work and provide care to service users. From new roofs and refurbished wards to greener more therapeutic garden areas and improved accessibility, to cleaner sites and better food and refreshments for service users, everyone in our estates and facilities team have done a huge amount to support the care we offer in Sheffield.
Over 40 people came on the day, thanks to every one of them and to all their colleagues who couldn't make it.
Adele Sabin, Therapeutic Environments Programme Manager, said: "It's been great to meet up with people from across Estates and Facilities today. We work across the city to support all the different services at SHSC, so it's rare that we meet up to get to know each other and better understand the work we all do. I really enjoyed getting to know people from Housekeeping, Transport, Estates, Gardening and Maintenance.
"Estates and Facilities services do so much for the NHS. Today we talked about how everything that we do has a direct impact on the experiences of people who use our services. That felt really important to hear and so a celebration of our work on National Healthcare Estates & Facilities Day is well deserved!"
