Wainwright Crescent rated as good by the CQC

17th January 2019

We've received the fantastic news that Wainwright Crescent has been rated as good by the CQC in all five domains - safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

Wainwright Crescent is a twelve-bed unit which provides regular respite care, short term stays or emergency/crisis care.

We'd like to say a huge congratulations to everyone at Wainwright Crescent for their continued hard work and dedication. The team have worked tirelessly to make improvements from their previous inspection in 2017 where they were rated as requires improvement overall.

The report recognised the efforts staff make to ensure people were fully involved in their care plan and how discharge planning was a key aspect of the care and support on offer.

There were a number of highlights we could have shared from the report, but this quote from a service user really sums up how positive people's experiences are at Wainwright Crescent:

"I am envious of the people who get discharged from hospital to here. If that had happened when I was first in hospital, I feel it would have made a difference and I would not have got as unwell."
