Farewell to dedicated Non-Executive Directors after many years’ service

  At the end of March 2018 Sheffield Health & Social Care NHS Foundation Trust (SHSC) will be bidding a fond farewell to its two longest serving Non-Executive Directors – Mervyn Thomas and Susan Rogers MBE. Mervyn was appointed as a Non-Executive Director in September 2009. His input, guidance and decision-making has been invaluable during his time at the Trust. For the past few years he has been the Senior Independent Director as well as the Chair of the Quality Assurance Committee. Sue was also appointed at as a Non-Executive Director in September 2009 and has played a huge role in contributing to the work of the Board. Sue has been the Vice Chair as well as the Chair of the Workforce and Organisational Development Committee. Jayne Brown OBE, Chair, said: “Both Mervyn and Sue have given many years of dedicated public service to SHSC and by extension to the people of Sheffield. Their commitment to the NHS and the values we hold so dear shines through in everything they do. We are deeply grateful for their hard work over many years and wish them well for the future.” Kevan Taylor, Chief Executive, said: “We will very much miss Mervyn and Sue both professionally and personally. They have been wonderful public servants and our staff and service users have greatly benefited from their experience, dedication and support over the past nine years.”
