SUN:RISE (Service User Network)

SUN:RISE (Service User Network)
Relevant Inclusive Supportive Exciting

SUN:RISE (Service User Network) is a monthly forum which enables service users to be informed, involved and engaged in Trust business.  SUN:RISE reports to the quarterly In-patient Forum and to the In-patient and Community Directorates via the SUN:RISE facilitator.  It comprises a business meeting followed by invited guest speakers and informal networking.  It has a role as a user consultation group for service changes and research proposals.  Members have active links to a range of other relevant groups both within and external to the Trust.  SUN:RISE is expanding all the time, with groups now established on the in-patient wards (co-facilitated by SUN:RISE core group members), and in the Community Mental Health Teams.

Any SHSC mental health service user is welcome to attend SUN:RISE.  Staff and students are welcome to attend the speaker sessions, and also the business meeting by prior arrangement.

We strive to have an informal but respectful and business-like environment.
