Information Governance

Confidentiality and Information Sharing

Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust (SHSC) takes great care to make sure that any information that it has about you is kept safe and confidential. We have to follow strict laws (for example the Data Protection Act 1998) and guidance about handling and sharing any information we may have about you.  We make sure we follow all the appropriate information governance guidance.

We only keep and share the minimum amount of information possible and only share information with people who have a real need to know it. When we use information we always try to take out any details that might identify individual people.

Below are two leaflets which explain more about the patient information that SHSC collects, why it keeps it, who it shares information with and why. There is also a link to a Privacy Notice, a document describing how we use personal information.
