Fire incident at the Michael Carlisle Centre

There was a small fire at the Michael Carlisle Centre this morning which was contained to one room on Burbage Ward. All staff and service users are safe and no one was injured as a result of the fire.

All service users and staff from Burbage Ward were temporarily moved to an adjacent ward and have now returned to Burbage Ward.

The cause of the fire will be investigated by the Fire Service and any appropriate action will be taken.

We have returned to business as usual. We would like to thank the staff on Burbage Ward for their prompt response to the fire and for ensuring that appropriate procedures were followed. We would like to thank all staff involved in the incident for ensuring the safety and continuing care of our service users.
